We provide services across Los Angeles, spanning the San Fernando, San Gabriel, and Antelope Valleys, as well as in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Serving nearly 17,000 Californians facing serious life challenges each year, we use our expertise, creativity, and dedication to help address each person’s individual needs, while also providing tools to help them move forward to a better life.

Sycamores was formed by the merger of two leading child welfare organizations: The Sycamores, founded in 1902, and Hathaway Children & Family Services, founded in 1919. Read more history.

Our esteemed research and training department uses program data to inform our work and drive innovation, which ultimately ensures effective outcomes to those we serve. In addition, we provide training to communities, professionals and organizations locally, nationally and internationally.
Debra Manners, President & CEO, has dedicated her career to serving children and families. Her innovative leadership and visionary work to lead the child welfare and behavioral health fields has resulted in positive changes for thousands of children in the foster care system throughout California.
