Recognizing the connection between health, education, environment, and the economic and social conditions that affect children, youth, and families, Sycamores launched a Family Resource Center in 1992 to support and strengthen communities through healthy family development.
We’re Here To Help!
Located in Palmdale, the Family Resource Center provides a wide range of support and programs, such as mental health services, tutoring, educational classes, and a food bank, universally accessible to surrounding Antelope Valley communities.
On a semimonthly basis, families can pick up free, essential food items. Sycamores also provides clothing, school supplies and toys at specified times of the year (e.g., the holidays, back-to-school time).
Parenting classes and substance abuse counseling are two additional services that are available to the community at the Family Resource Center.
Youth enrichment activities at the Family Resource Center include art classes, peer mentorship, and youth leadership for teens who want to make a difference in their community.
Sycamores’ Rent and Mortgage Assistance Program is available to help individuals and families who are behind in rent or mortgage payments and at risk of eviction or foreclosure. This program is for residents in LA County Supervisory District 5, who live in one of the cities or unincorporated areas included in the LA County Community Action Agency Service Area program, and who are at or below 200% of the 2021 US Department of Health and Human Services Income Poverty Guidelines.
The Family Resource Center offers many services that address mental and behavioral health needs. Sycamores believes in providing families with the tools to create a better life; one way we do so is by offering holistic services, including:
